Sainz and Jaafar on the podium in Pau

Carlos Sainz Jnr took another British F3 victory in Pau today, with Jazeman Jaafar just behind in second. Team mate Jack Harvey took points for fifth, with Fantin sixth. Harry Tincknell failed to finish. Taking part in the Grand Prix de Pau, Sainz and Jaafar finished second and third on the road, behind F3 Euro Series racer Raffaele Marciello who was entered in the FIA European F3 Championship and not eligible for points in the British F3 Series.

Carlin’s Jazeman Jaafar has taken second position in today’s race in Pau during the third round of the Cooper Tires British Formula Three International Series. However the Malaysian driver will pick up maximum points in the British F3 championship after becoming the series top scoring driver during the race. Jack Harvey finished fifth and also took to the podium as the third highest placed British F3 driver.

Carlin’s British F3 drivers completed a strong showing around the streets of Pau this morning, during qualifying for the third event of the 2012 Cooper Tires British F3 International Series.  Carlos Sainz Jnr was the quickest of the Carlin men, and was quickest in his group, while Jazeman Jaafar continued his strong pace from yesterday’s practice to be second fastest in his group.

Carlin’s Jazeman Jaafar has set the pace today in Pau after two free practice sessions ahead of the third round in the 2012 Cooper Tires British Formula Three International Series. The PETRONAS backed Malaysian driver set the quickest time of the day around the tricky street circuit while team mates Jack Harvey and Carlos Sainz also had positive sessions, running in the top four throughout the day. However Pietro Fantin saw his day compromised by a mechanical issue which meant he lost valuable track time. Contact with the barriers for Harry Tincknell in the afternoon session put an end to his day.

Carlin's F3 squad return to Pau

This weekend will mark the return of the Grand Prix de Pau to the Cooper Tires British Formula Three International Series calendar after an absence of five years. Carlin head to the French street circuit for the third round of the season with drivers Carlos Sainz Jnr, Jazeman Jaafar, Jack Harvey, Harry Tincknell and Pietro Fantin. Sainz will also be eligible to score points in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship which is incorporated in the British F3 event.

Carlin completed a strong first outing in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship with another podium for Carlos Sainz Jr today. The Red Bull Junior took a second place in the first race on Saturday and claimed another strong second placed finish at the Hockeheimring this morning in his Volkswagen powered Dallara. Team mate William Buller recovered well from a difficult opening lap to cross the line sixth.

Carlin drivers Carlos Sainz Jr and William Buller made a competitive start to the 2012 F3 Euro Series this morning, taking a second and fourth place finish respectively at the Hockenheimring in Germany. The Carlin drivers got to grips quickly with the new Hankook tyres on their Volkswagen powered F3 cars in what was also the first event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship.

The first race weekend of the season will see the Spaniard line up on the front row of the grid while team mate Will Buller will start from eighth position.

Having taken his first ever British F3 win yesterday, Carlin’s Carlos Sainz Jr took victory again today, at a rain soaked Monza circuit in Italy. The 17 year-old Spaniard was unchallenged in his Volkswagen powered Carlin machine throughout the 40 minute Feature race, which was started behind the safety car. Jazeman Jaafar finished fourth, Harry Tincknell was sixth and Jack Harvey was eighth. Harvey and Pietro Fantin took second and third respectively in the morning’s Sprint race.

Carlin’s Carlos Sainz Jr stormed to his first victory in the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series today, in an eventful opening race at the Monza circuit in Italy. The Red Bull Junior emerged from the pits first after the entire field pitted for wet weather tyres after the green flag lap and was unchallenged to the chequered flag. Jazeman Jaafar claimed another podium in third place, while Jack Harvey was fifth and Pietro Fantin was seventh. Harry Tincknell was unable to finish after running wide over the kerbs.

Carlos Sainz Jr has stormed to his first British F3 pole position in a tense qualifying session in Monza this morning. The Red Bull Junior was competitive throughout the session, but waited until the final minutes to post a time that could not be beaten. Team mate Pietro Fantin was the next highest Carlin runner in sixth, with Harry Tincknell seventh, Jazeman Jaafar eighth and Jack Harvey ninth. .

Reigning British Formula Three Champions Carlin are set to compete in the new FIA European Formula 3 Championship with Northern Irishman William Buller and Red Bull Junior driver Carlos Sainz Jr. The 10 round championship also incorporates the F3 Euro Series. Both Buller and Sainz Jr have experience in British Formula 3; Buller a previous racer winner in 2011, and Sainz Jr an early front runner in this year’s British championship. Having claimed three consecutive F3 titles with Volkswagen in Britain, Carlin will be racing with Volkswagen power in Europe this season.

It was an encouraging start for Carlin’s British F3 squad at Oulton Park this weekend, with the team’s quintet of drivers adding four more trophies to the team’s collection in races two and three after a Carlin podium lock out in race one. Pietro Fantin and Jazeman Jaafar finished second and third in race two, while Jack Harvey and Harry Tincknell took second and third in race three. Harvey leaves the Cheshire circuit as championship leader, with Jaafar second in the standings, Tincknell third, Carlos Sainz Jr fourth and Pietro Fantin sixth.

Jack Harvey took a stunning lights to flag victory at Oulton Park this morning, in race one of the 2012 Cooper Tires British F3 Series. The Racing Steps driver dealt well with the pressure of his first pole position to take victory by 7.7 seconds from team mate Jazeman Jaafar. Carlos Sainz Jr completed a Carlin podium lock out in third in his first ever F3 race, while Harry Tincknell was fourth. Pietro Fantin recovered from contact at the start of the race to finish eighth.

Carlin’s Jack Harvey opened his 2012 International British F3 Series account with two pole positions at the first race weekend of the season at Oulton Park in Cheshire today. The Racing Steps Foundation backed driver made the most of changeable conditions in this afternoon’s 30 minute qualifying session to claim pole for race one and race three tomorrow. Team mate Harry Tincknell was third fastest on his debut with Carlin, while F3 rookie Carlos Sainz Jnr was fourth, Jazeman Jaafar fifth and Pietro Fantin eighth.

British race team Carlin have enjoyed a successful start to the 2012 season, with the team’s British F3 and GP3 squads topping the time sheets in pre-season testing. Carlin’s GP2 and Formula Renault 3.5 teams have also clocked up times in the top three to mark a strong start to the season over the last two weeks.

Carlin have provided three multiple championship winning cars for display at this week’s Autosport International Show at the NEC Arena in Birmingham. Takuma Sato’s British Formula Three winning car from 2001 will be on show alongside Alvaro Parente’s 2005 challenger, while 2011 British F3 champion Felipe Nasr’s car will make an appearance at the Anglo American Oil Company stand.

Carlin’s Felipe Nasr took a stunning second place in the 58th Macau Grand Prix today, in an eventful 15 lap race which was eventually won by Daniel Juncadella. Nasr fought closely with the front runners to take a well deserved second place and cross the line as the top British F3 and Volkswagen powered driver. Jazeman Jaafar steered clear of the various incidents to finish a very strong 8th place. Kevin Magnussen was taken out of contention after a big accident at the end of the race running eighth, while Carlos Huertas who had started fifth, crossed the line 13th after being hit early on in the race.

Carlin’s British F3 drivers put in an impressive display in second qualifying in Macau today, as a break in the weather finally allowed for some dry running around the challenging circuit. Reining champion Felipe Nasr was again impressive and qualified sixth overall, with team mate and Macau rookie Kevin Magnussen just behind him in seventh. Carlos Huertas made it three Carlin cars in the top ten with the ninth quickest time overall, while Jazeman Jaafar was 17th. .

Carlin’s British F3 champion Felipe Nasr put in an impressive display in a wet qualifying session ahead of the 58th Macau Grand Prix today, to set the third fastest time overall. Nasr was later elevated to second on the grid after provisional pole man Roberto Merhi was penalised for crossing the pit lane exit. With several drivers facing investigation by the stewards, provisional grid positions are set to change further. .

Carlin’s Carlos Huertas has taken his first win of the season during the finale of the 2011 Cooper Tires British Formula Three Championship at Silverstone. The young Colombian snatched the lead from team mate Kevin Magnussen and although he came under pressure from the Dane he held on to finish first – his best result this season. Rupert Svendsen-Cook was also on the podium in third. The result means three Volkswagen powered Carlin cars graced the final podium of the year. Magnussen also becomes Vice-Champion.

Carlin’s Kevin Magnussen has won the first race of this weekend’s 2011 Cooper Tires British Formula Three Championship season finale. The young Dane took a lights to flag victory at Silverstone after building up an impressive gap to the cars behind. Felipe Nasr was also on the podium in third position and Jazeman Jaafar was just behind him in fourth. Carlos Huertas came home seventh and Jack Harvey tenth. Unfortunately Rupert Svendsen-Cook was forced to retire on the first lap.

Carlin have topped the time sheets at the last official test of the year for the 2011 Cooper Tires British Formula Three International Series at Silverstone today. Kevin Magnussen was the quickest in the first session of the day, with a time that would remain unbeaten in the remaining two sessions. Carlos Huertas took the honours in the second round of testing. The third and final test of the day saw Nasr top the timings. All six Carlin drivers were on the pace throughout the day.

Kevin Magnussen won a dramatic Feature Race at Donington Park today, in round 27 of the Cooper Tires British F3 Series. The Danish racer fought a lengthy battle with team mate Jack Harvey, who led at the start and later ran in second place before retiring through a technical problem. Rupert Svendsen-Cook took third place to complete a strong weekend for the British driver. Carlos Huertas was the next driver across the line in fourth place. Felipe Nasr was ninth after an eventful race, just ahead of Jazeman Jaafar who 10th after a spin in what had been a strong race.

Rupert Svendsen-Cook stormed to a convincing victory in race one of the weekend at Donington today, having led from the lights to the chequered flag. The British racer led the field from pole position and was unchallenged for the remainder of the race. Team mate Carlos Huertas crossed the line second, just ahead of F3 rookie Jack Harvey, making it a Carlin 1-2-3 on the podium. Jazeman Jaafar also enjoyed a strong result in fifth place, while Felipe Nasr and Kevin Magnussen failed to finish after contact on lap two.

Felipe Nasr took his fourth pole position of the Cooper Tires British F3 International season today, in qualifying at the Donington circuit. The newly crowned British F3 champion just beat team mate Jack Harvey to pole for Sunday’s Feature race by 0.064 seconds. Racing Steps Driver Harvey put in his best qualifying performance of the season so far, and had been an earlier contender for pole. Carlin team mate Rupert Svendsen-Cook went third fastest overall, although his second fastest lap was enough to clinch pole for race one later today. Carlos Huertas was fourth quickest overall with Kevin Magnussen fifth. Jazeman Jaafar made it all Carlin cars in the top eight with eighth place.

The Cooper Tires British F3 International Series recommenced today, with practice ahead of rounds 25, 26 and 27 of the season at Donington. Jazeman Jaafar topped the timesheets in this afternoon’s hour long session, just a fraction ahead of team mate Rupert Svendsen-Cook who was also on the pace. Kevin Magnussen, who was also a consistent front running in the morning was third quickest ahead of Jack Harvey and Felipe Nasr. Carlos Huertas was eighth quickest..

This weekend sees the Carlin team back in action at Donington Park for rounds 25, 26 and 27 of the 2011 Cooper Tires British Formula Three Championship. Carlin’s Felipe Nasr secured the 2011 title last time out at Rockingham so heads into his fist race weekend as the newly crowned champion. The battle for second position however is still up for grabs with team mate Kevin Magnussen currently holding on after a strong weekend in Rockingham in which he won the final race of the weekend.

Carlin’s Felipe Nasr has won the Cooper Tires British Formula Three Championship after a third place at the Rockingham circuit today. It was team mate Kevin Magnussen who won the race however following a brilliant drive in a race that saw two safety car periods. Jazeman Jaafar and Jack Harvey finished P5 and P6 respectively. Carlos Huertas was eleventh and Rupert Svendsen-Cook didn’t finished due to an off early on in the race.

Carlin drivers Rupert Svendsen-Cook and Jack Harvey celebrated on the podium this afternoon, having finished second and third respectively in round 22 of theCooper Tires British Formula Three race at Rockingham. All Carlin cars finished in the top eight, Jazeman Jaafar and Carlos Huertas finished fourth and fifth while Felipe Nasr finished sixth after a drive-through penalty. Kevin Magnussen finished in seventh position.

Felipe Nasr has put his Volkswagen powered Carlin car on the front row ahead of this afternoon’s 2011 Cooper Tires British Formula 3 race at Rockingham. All six Carlin cars qualified within the top seven.
Brazilian racer Nasr had been near the top of the order for most of the session however Pietro Fantin clinched pole from the Carlin man.

Carlin driver Jazeman Jaafar found himself topping two of the three practice sessions today for the 2011 Cooper Tires British Formula 3 Championship at Rockingham. Practice one saw Jaafar take the top spot with his Carlin team mates not far behind, and all within the top eight. Practice two was interrupted by two red flags however the Carlin drivers were again high in the timings. Practice three once again saw all Carlin drivers in great positions and Jaafar taking the top spot.

Carlin’s Kevin Magnussen has won race two of this weekend’s 2011 Cooper Tires British Formula Three Series at Spa taking a brilliant lights to flag victory. Rupert Svendsen-Cook followed him home in second – giving the team a 1-2 finish. Felipe Nasr finished 8th while Carlos Huertas and Jack Harvey battled each other for their positions. Jazeman Jaafar made up a number of places to finish sixteenth after contact with invitation driver Roberto Mehri pushed him down the field on lap one.

Carlin’s Jazeman Jaafar put in a stunning drive to take third place in race one of this weekend’s 2011 Cooper Tires British Formula 3 Series at a surprisingly dry circuit in Spa-Francorchamps. Jaafar was the highest placed Volkswagen engine finisher and also takes points in the Formula Three International Trophy event. All Carlin drivers finished in the top 10; Jack Harvey took firth, Rupert Svendsen-Cook came home sixth with Kevin Magnussen close behind in seventh. Felipe Nasr and Carlos Huertas rounded off the top ten in P9 and P10 respectively.

Having recently celebrated the team’s 200th race victory, the Carlin teams are now looking to the future as they prepare to move into a purpose built factory which will house the team from September this year. The reining British F3 and Formula Renault 3.5 champions, along with Carlin’s GP3 and GP2 teams will all be situated under one roof at the new factory in Farnham, Surrey.

A close and eventful race three in Paul Ricard resulted in a dramatic finale for race leader Kevin Magnussen. The Carlin driver had led the race from the outset to the final corner, only to end his race off track following an over ambitious move by second placed man Antonio Felix da Costa. That left Carlin team mate Felipe Nasr free to take his seventh win of the season. A post-race penalty for da Costa would later elevate F3 rookie Jack Harvey to the podium, Rupert Svendsen-Cook to fourth and Carlos Huertas to fifth. Jazeman Jaafar failed to finish after contact on the first lap.

Carlin driver Rupert Svendsen-Cook took second place in a chaotic race at the Paul Ricard circuit in the South of France this morning, in round 17 of the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series. The British racer challenged for the lead at the start, but couldn’t quite find a way past pole man Will Buller and crossed the line second. Kevin Magnussen was fourth, just ahead of team mates Carlos Huertas and Jack Harvey. Felipe Nasr was ninth after a spin, while Jazeman Jaafar managed to finish tenth, despite starting from the back of the grid.

Felipe Nasr took another race victory for Carlin this afternoon, following a flawless drive to his sixth victory of the season in the 2011 Cooper Tires British F3 Series. Pole sitter Kevin Magnussen lost out at the start and initially dropped to seventh place, but fought back to finish fourth. Carlos Huertas drove a solid race to claim another podium in third. Jack Harvey continued his strong run of form and was fifth, just ahead of team mate Rupert Svendsen-Cook in sixth. Jazeman Jaafar provided many of the highlights of the race with a determined drive and several overtaking manoeuvres.

Carlin’s Kevin Magnussen set the quickest lap in free practice at the Paul Ricard circuit in the south of France today, ahead of the sixth event on the 2011 Cooper Tires British F3 Series. Felipe Nasr had been the pace setter in the morning session, but it was Magnussen who got the most from the track which was a new experience for the majority of the British F3 drivers.

Felipe Nasr took his fourth victory of the season this afternoon, in another thrilling wet/dry British F3 race at Brands Hatch. Nasr took the lead at the mid way point from Rupert Svendsen-Cook who lead in the early stages, but later failed to finish after contact with another car in the closing stages. In an incredibly close session, Svendsen-Cook set two laps good enough for pole, handing him the top spot for both race 1 and race 3 of the weekend. Kevin Magnussen took his second race win of the weekend at Snetterton this afternoon, with a copy cat move of his overtaking manoeuvre on Felipe Nasr in race one yesterday. The young Dane took the lead at the restart on lap three and never looked back to take his second win of the season. Carlos Huertas completed a Carlin 1-2 to take his fourth podium of the season, whilst Jazeman Jaafar narrowly missed out on the podium in fourth place. Jack Harvey crossed the line 12th, just ahead of Rupert Svendsen-Cook who started from the pit lane following a mechanical issue, whilst Felipe Nasr endured a tumultuous race to finish 17th but set a new lap record in the process.

The 2011 British F3 season got underway today, as the first official test of the season took place at the Rockingham Motor Speedway. Despite the bitterly cold and grey conditions, it was a positive day for the Carlin team. 19 year-old Felipe Nasr set the quickest time of the day in the morning session, going just a fraction quicker than team mate Carlos Huertas who topped the sheets in the afternoon.
