Petru Florescu will remain with Carlin’s Ford MSA Formula team to take on a second season in the exciting and competitive series. Florescu, who was a regular top ten finisher over the course of the 2015 season, remains with the team and has already been undertaking his testing programme in the lead up to the start of the season in April. Florescu is the final driver to be confirmed in Carlin’s four car squad alongside Max Fewtrell, James Pull and Devlin DeFrancesco.
Florescu has worked with the team for the past couple of seasons graduating to the Ford MSA Formula Championship having started with the Carlin Academy after a karting accident left him badly injured. However the Romanian racer has since graduated to the British series and has seen strong results with his Carlin team.
Speaking about the upcoming season Florescu said, “I am very happy to be able to stay with Carlin for a second season in the Ford MSA Formula. I learned a lot last year and I am eager to fight for the top spots in the series this year.”
Trevor Carlin added, “I’m pleased to have Petru with us for another season in the Ford MSA Formula Championship, he is a great driver to work with and has developed extremely well within the team. Petru always works hard with his engineer and I have no doubt that this season will see him fighting up there because we’ve seen the determination he has ever since he joined the Carlin Academy with us two years ago. We’re looking forward to going in to the season next month with our strong four car line up.”
Florescu will be out on track along with Fewtrell, Pull and DeFrancesco for the first race of the season next month at Brands Hatch.
