
Reigning Formula Renault 3.5 champions Carlin have taken further points in the opening race meeting of the season after another brilliant start from Will Stevens saw him move up through the grid and finish 8th. Team mate Kevin Magnussen found himself caught up on the inside of the first corner just after the start and consequently retired from the race.

Reigning Formula Renault 3.5 Teams' and Drivers' champions Carlin set the pace again in pre-season testing this week in Barcelona. Despite wet weather making it a difficult day for driving, the rain did give the opportunity for Carlin drivers Kevin Magnussen and Will Stevens to work on a wet set-up with their engineers. Magnussen topped the timesheets during day one, setting the fastest time of the entire two-day test, while the wash out of day two saw both drivers ease back on the number of laps completed.
