Carlin is pleased to confirm Ido Cohen will join their FIA Formula Three team for the upcoming 2021 season. Israeli born Cohen, becomes the second driver to be announced for the Surrey-based squad ahead of pre-season testing scheduled to take place later this month.

ADD Management driver Cohen, spent the 2020 season participating the Euroformula Open Championship where he impressed: finishing seventh overall in the standings and taking two podiums along the way at the historic and notoriously challenging, Spa-Francorchamps.

This followed prior experience racing the Toyota Racing Series as well as F4 Italy and ADAC F4 – where he was a proved podium finisher. In anticipation for the upcoming season, Cohen has already spent four days in the FIA Formula Three car as part of official post-season testing with the team. Cohen now looks forward to continuing this progress with the team as testing gets underway later this month in Jerez.

The 2021 season will see Cohen and previously announced teammate Jonny Edgar, take on a new and exciting FIA F3 calendar and race weekend format, which will see action in historic venues such as Budapest and Spa, alongside the brand new addition of the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Cohen said, “I’m pleased to be remaining within the Carlin family and taking this step up to FIA Formula Three. I know it’s going to be a challenge, but I feel I have the right people around me to push hard in the championship this season. I have already competed at some of the tracks on the calendar but it’s great to be going to new circuits too. I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the car – it feels like it’s been a really long time since the test I participated in with the team in 2020!”

Trevor Carlin said, “I’m delighted that Ido is staying with us for the 2021 season and making the step-up to the immensely competitive FIA F3 Championship.  Ido really applied himself last season; he worked very hard and delivered some great results in the EuroFormula Open car.

“FIA F3 is a very tough championship but I know if he applies the same methods he can be pushing for some good results again in 2021”
