Thunderhead and Manchester confirmed for 2020 European Le Mans Series

February 11, 2020

Thunderhead Carlin Racing and Jack Manchester will join forces once again as the team enters its second season of the European Le Mans Series.

Building on the strong foundations of the previous season, Manchester will continue with the British team in the six-round 2020 European Le Mans Series.

It was a steep learning curve for both the Thunderhead Racing Team and Manchester last year as the 2019 season got underway.  Both the team and Manchester have since enjoyed podiums and a pole position in the team’s Dallara P217 car in the Asian Le Mans Series.  The pairing will put this experience to good use with the return to Europe.

With little time between the end of the ongoing Asian Le Mans Series and the commencement of European Le Mans Series testing next month, Manchester and team are ready to hit the ground running and will be back in the Thunderhead Carlin Racing simulator in anticipation of the season.

Manchester said, “I’m thrilled to be able to confirm that I’ll be in the European Le Mans Championship again for the 2020 season – it’s a fantastic Series to participate in and the level of competition is really high and exciting so I can’t wait to get back out there.

“We’ve certainly made great progress as a team both in the European and Asian Le Mans Series so I really do feel that we can continue this as we look towards a new season. Roll on testing in March!”

Team Principal Trevor Carlin said, “We’re very excited to be back in the European Le Mans Series for 2020.  We learnt a lot in a small time frame last year and gained even more experience in Asia. Without a doubt we return this season stronger than ever.  Jack has developed so much as a driver in the last 12 months we’re really excited to see his potential develop further this season.”

The 2020 European Le Mans Series will start in April in Barcelona and will see Manchester race on iconic circuits such as Monza, Silverstone and Spa among others over the course of the six-round season.
