Carlin is pleased to confirm that Callum Voisin will join the team for the upcoming 2022 GB3 Championship season. The 15-year-old Swiss-born driver, who has spent the 2021 season racing in the Ginetta Junior championship with great success, will make the switch to single seaters with the current champions and becomes the first driver in Carlin’s 2022 line-up to be confirmed.

Voisin’s credentials are already impressive, despite his young age. His debut season racing in the Ginetta Junior Championship saw him finish sixth overall securing a brilliant seven victories, 11 podiums and two pole positions along the way. Voisin was the joint highest race winner throughout the season with a particularly dominant display at Brands Hatch where he took a clean sweep of all three race victories on offer; the only driver to achieve the accolade throughout the year.

Prior to his Ginetta season, Voisin enjoyed a busy karting career in multiple series including finishing third in the British championship last year, fourth the previous season, becoming the English Champion and representing Team UK at the world finals.

The 15-year-old has already participated in a test day with reigning champions Carlin and taken part in a simulator session ahead of a fully planned winter test programme in anticipation of the upcoming season.

Voisin becomes the first driver to be announced in Carlin’s 2022 line-up which will see the Anglo-Swiss racer take on the challenges of a brand-new car introduced for the upcoming season, complete with the halo design for the very first time.

Voisin said of joining the team, “I am extremely excited to be joining Carlin for the 2022 GB3 Championship, they have impressed me this year with their dominance, and I was blown away by their professionalism when I tested with them. I just want to say thank you to Edge Sporting Management for putting this deal together with Carlin; I cannot wait to get started”

Team Principal Trevor Carlin added, “We are so pleased to welcome Callum to the team. We’ve watched him race over the course of the 2021 season and been impressed with his driving and his general attitude in the paddock. I have no doubt that Callum will be able to integrate himself well with our GB3 team and hit the ground running over the winter test season and when the championship begins next year.”
